Depression and Ways to Decrease It
Severe depression should be taken seriously because it can trick people into believing they have no reason to live.
If you or someone you care about is having thoughts of suicide or engaging in another form of self-harm, please seek out therapeutic support immediately.
If you are having suicidal thoughts, feel you may hurt yourself, or are concerned that someone you know may be in danger of hurting himself or herself:
1) Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255)
2) Call the National Hopeline Network at 1-800-SUICIDE (1-800-784-2433)
3) If you are Spanish speaking, call the Kristin Brooks Hope Center Spanish suicide support line at 1-800 SUICIDA (1-800-784-2432).
Once you have a better understanding of what you are experiencing, you can access all of the tools others have found helpful in dealing with that same experience. By assessing whether anxiety or depression is playing a role in your life, you are better prepared to seek out the proven ways others have successfully overcome those issues.
