I’ve had the opportunity to get to know a diverse group of extraordinary people. The ones I admire most are individuals who seem to embody wisdom and who seem truly and deeply happy from the inside out. These individuals have included elders, successful business people, spiritual leaders, political advocates, other therapists and educators. As I’ve observed these folks, I’ve recognized patterns in the habits that these happy and wise people all seem to share:
1) They know how to be calm and present in the moment. They have the ability to quiet the mental chatter inside their heads and to be quiet. They make time to be still and to reflect on a regular basis.
