3 Strategies for Career Burnout
Executive Therapy
As you are probably aware, the pandemic has created a greater amount of career burnout than we have seen in any previous year, largely connected to what we have all experienced over the past year. However, it is not all bad. A lot of it is connected to the positive changes that we would like to have in our lives going forward. So, if you are one of the many who are coping with career burnout at this moment I have 3 strategies to help you start moving forward.
The first is to incorporate a minimum of 20 minutes of additional self-care every day into your calendar no matter how much or how little self-care you have right now, amp it up by at least 20 minutes. Whether it’s pausing to call in a friend or make social plans, going for a walk, whatever makes that 20 minutes high quality for you, you can carve out 20 minutes.
Secondly, look for larger opportunities to restore your energy and restore your perspective. I am a firm believer that we should all be clearing out our PTO banks this year. If it at all possible for you to step away from work and take a nice vacation, well now is a brilliant time to make that happen.
Finally, strategy number 3. It may be time to assess whether long-term permanent changes that you are going to need have optimum fulfillment in your career and also maximum balance and enjoyment in your life as a whole.
